BIG KIDS

Young children are intrigued and excited by technology, and this is an ideal time for them to get involved in the creative process of coding. Our Big Kids after school program creates an immersive, activity-based fun learning environment exposing your child to a wide spectrum of computer concepts.

Tasks are structured to nurture creativity and invention in young minds, with instructors integrating basic skills in technology with core concepts about computational thinking to lay a robust foundation of the basics. By focusing on key concepts, students acquire the skills to work with computers, robots, and mobile devices.

Learning coding helps develop young minds for grasping more advanced concepts later on and opens up avenues for problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, and the skill to design of systems for specific tasks. It also fosters an understanding of the power and limits of human and machine intelligences.

Students will interact and collaborate, designing projects and programming on modern visual tools such as ScratchEd and Tynker. They will be able to complete innovative projects on programmable Robotics. Expert tutors offer your child individual guidance based on carefully chosen and sequenced topics in the age appropriate program while challenging them and engaging their imagination.

TWEENS
GRADE 5 – 8
Computer systems have a profound impact on the society and community, and developing computational thinking offers young minds a lens for understanding and working with technology. Learning to program encourages creativity, logical thought, and problem solving while fostering the personal, learning, and thinking skills kids need to be successful in the classroom.

Our program offers immersive task- and project-based exploratory learning. Tweens get to explore communication protocols, design networks, and formulate innovative algorithms for communication and digital control systems. They build a firm foundation in problem analysis, focusing on topics such as

Coders will build skills using visual programing languages Scratch and Tynker. They’ll also complete projects on Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Wonder Dot and Dash, using a set of carefully sequenced projects. Student-assembled robotics and programmable devices are used in team and individual projects. The after school program is led by our panel of skilled instructors who guide learning, provide appropriate stimulation, and help tweens build the confidence to succeed.

TEENS
GRADE 9- 12
With a focus on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction, the Teen after school program helps students develop the skills and knowledge they need to develop innovative software and hardware solutions to real-world problems. Our design-based approach with an emphasis on applied learning ensures that students are immersed in a collaborative peer environment that fosters group problem solving and innovation.

Students will create encoding and storage mechanisms and compete with each other in games that they create. They will be constantly engaged with creative computing projects and tasks using generic hardware and general-purpose computer modulus such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, single board computers and embedded devices. Programmable logic devices, advanced Scratch, Tynker, 3G/4G languages, distributed algorithms, optimization of algorithms, debuggers, peer programming, games, simulations, refactoring, reusing, redesigning, and repurposing of software and hardware are all covered in detail.

Our highly qualified instructors and fully equipped laboratory provide a learner-based, minimal interference environment that offers individual support. Teens are guided to build a deep understanding of subject areas and technology concepts, with assistance in everything from concepts of programming all the way to project management and implementing software projects.
